Eltako - more than 75 years of experience

1849 Eltako presents the first impulse switch. The S6w is inexpensive, practical and ideally suited for use in the 70mm junction box (which for a long time was the preferred location for remote switches).

Fun fact: “Eltako” is still used today as a synonym for “impulse switch”.

Between 1951 and 1972, installation relays, multipole devices, time relays, remote switches and DIN rail mounted devices are added to the range.

From 1977 to 1989, Eltako introduces hybrid and electronic technologies - a world first. Electronic impulse switches for central control systems and electronic staircase lighting timers as well as the presentation of the world's first single-module universal voltage multifunctional time relay MFZ make the company an innovation leader in building technology.

From 1996 to 2004, Eltako continues to present a steady stream of world firsts. These include single-module universal voltage multifunction time relays with LCD display, staircase lighting time switches with automatic detection of the switching mode and switch-off pre-warning, single-module dimmer switches, impulse current switches with release delay and switch-off pre-warning, 4-way impulse current switches, self-learning field switches, NP series with microcontroller and contact switching in zero crossing and electronic AC meters 20 to 65a.

Between 2005 and 2007, the company launches multifunction impulse switches and multifunction relays with universal control voltage and minimized standby loss. In addition, electronic three-phase meters, electronic three-phase meters that are only four division units wide, universal dimmers with multifunction and for central controls, the first microcontroller-controlled electronic impulse switch in hybrid technology without any standby loss as well as wide-range switching power supplies with minimized standby loss and switching devices with patented duplex technology.
