terminals and connectors

The right terminal for every application – from control cabinet to junction box

Terminals and connectors are the foundation of every electrical installation. Whether connecting conductors in a junction box, distributing protective conductors in a control cabinet, or branching power from a main cable – there is a terminal type for every installation situation. At WATT24 you'll find all common versions from manufacturers including WAGO, Phoenix Contact, OBO Bettermann, and Pollmann.

Had to replace a lamp, but the same was no longer available. Great advice, found a suitable replacement and delivered it quickly.

Terminal types at a glance

Splicing connectors – also known as plug-in connectors (lever/push-in) or choc blocks (screw connection) – are compact field connectors without a DIN rail for the direct connection of conductors in junction boxes, luminaire connections, and field wiring. All poles within a single connector are internally linked conductively.

Rail-mounted terminal blocks are DIN rail terminals for professional control cabinet assembly per IEC 60947-7-1. They are mounted on the 35 mm mounting rail (TS 35) and lined up into terminal strips. Sub-types include protective conductor terminals (PE), two-level terminals, and three-level terminals.

Branch connectors are power distribution terminals for tapping from the main conductor to one or more outgoing conductors – without interrupting the main conductor. They have an asymmetric design and are rated for large conductor cross-sections (16–150 mm²).

Terminal type Installation Application
Splicing connector Without DIN rail, in the field Junction boxes, luminaire connections, field wiring
Rail-mounted terminal 35 mm DIN rail Control cabinet assembly, control and power circuits
Protective conductor terminal (PE) 35 mm DIN rail, conductively connected Standards-compliant PE distribution in control cabinets
Two-level terminal 35 mm DIN rail 2 levels, space-saving wiring
Three-level terminal 35 mm DIN rail 3 levels, maximum wiring density
Branch connector Without DIN rail, at the cable Power distribution, main conductor branch 16–150 mm²
