With this brand promise, the company's 750 or so employees work every day to meet the ever-changing demands of supplying parts to their customers.

Joseph Dresselhaus founded the company in Bielefeld in 1950. As early as 1975, the portfolio was expanded to include the “furniture fittings” product group and electronic data processing was introduced.

In 1977 there was a change at the top of the company, Heinrich Dresselhaus took over and became managing partner of the company just one year later.

In 1981, the first Dresselhaus branch opened in Schwabach. Another branch followed in Lemgo in 1985. This year also saw the launch of the DIY store program.

In 1987, a Munich screw retailer became the Maisach branch near Munich. Two years later, in 1989, the packaging company Dresselhaus Packing opened in Herford.

In 1994, the company headquarters were relocated from Bielefeld to Herford with the construction of a new administration and logistics building.

2008 saw the company's international expansion - the first foreign subsidiary was founded in Turkey. Foreign subsidiaries in France and Russia followed in 2011 and 2013.

In 2015, the retail division moved into a new location with the completion of the new logistics center in Lemgo.

In March 2020, the German-Dutch industrial holding company Nimbus acquires all the shares.

2021 sees the new claim: “Dresselhaus - the value creators” is a promise to customers to focus on tangible added value. The year also sees the launch of the latest eCommerce innovations.

The conversion of the logistics center in Herford will begin in 2022. The company also achieves record Group sales of more than € 230 million.

2023 The focus returns to expansion. The foreign companies in Italy and Austria are founded. The new automated logistics center in Herford is also put into operation.

With the publication of Dresselhaus VISION 2030, the company moves towards the future.
