JUNG - History

After the invention of the pull switch with 1/8 rotation, Albrecht Jung founded the company of the same name in 1912 not far from the current location in Schalksmühle. As his ideas for innovations were not well received by the company where he was employed as a master craftsman, Jung initially rented some basement rooms in which to realize his ideas.

His courage was soon rewarded: Albrecht Jung and his partner Ernst Paris quickly achieved commercial success and were soon able to purchase a former school building and an old greenhouse. In 1919, the temporary production facility moved in. In 1927/1928, the first JUNG factory building is erected in Schalksmühle. Jung and Paris successfully lead the successful company through two world wars and the subsequent post-war years.

At the beginning of the 1960s, the second generation, Siegfried Jung, takes over. Together with his friend and partner Theodor Schulte, he further expands the company's market success.

Once again, JUNG attracts attention with an innovation and presents a push-button switch that expands the previous switch range of toggle and rotary models. The LS 990, launched in 1968, remains a timeless classic among the switch ranges to this day. In 1993, the third generation takes the helm of the company. Harald Jung has always been in charge of marketing and sales. He, too, relies on the company's guiding principle, which still guarantees its great success today: Progress as tradition.
