three-pole terminals
Save space, wire smarter – three circuits, one terminal
Three-level terminal blocks are DIN rail-mounted terminals with three vertically stacked, galvanically isolated connection levels. Where conventional single-level terminals take up significant rail space, three-level terminals combine three independent circuits in a single unit – saving space, reducing wiring effort, and improving clarity inside control cabinets. At WATT24 you'll find three-level terminal blocks as standard versions and PE protective conductor terminals for professional control cabinet assembly.

What is a three-level terminal block?
A three-level terminal block is a rail-mounted terminal with three stacked connection levels in a single housing. Each level is electrically isolated from the others – there is no internal connection between levels. The result: three independent circuits in the footprint of a single terminal.
Mounting is on the standard 35 mm DIN rail (TS 35), just like conventional rail terminals. Three-level terminal blocks are particularly useful wherever many conductors need to be organised and wired in a confined space – for example in machine controls, building automation, or industrial plant engineering.
Three-level terminal blocks at a glance
| Type | Connection levels | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| Three-level terminal (standard) | 3 × phase / neutral, galvanically isolated | Control wiring, terminal strips in control cabinets |
| Three-level terminal PE | 3 × protective conductor | PE distribution in control cabinets, compliant earthing |
When do three-level terminal blocks make sense?
Three-level terminal blocks are the right choice wherever multiple circuits need to be grouped in a single terminal block and DIN rail space is limited. Typical applications:
- Machine controls: Many control conductors in a small space, neatly organised
- Building automation: Compact terminal strips for HVAC, lighting, and blind controls
- Industrial plants: Space-saving cabinet design for complex wiring tasks
- PE distribution: Three-level PE terminals for standards-compliant protective conductor distribution
Frequently asked questions about three-level terminal blocks
Standard rail terminals have one connection level per unit. Three-level terminal blocks combine three independent levels in a single housing – wiring three circuits in the space of one terminal. All levels are galvanically isolated from each other; each level is a fully independent circuit.
Yes. The three levels are electrically fully isolated from one another. There is no internal connection between levels – each level is an independently wired circuit.
Three-level terminal blocks are mounted on the standard 35 mm DIN rail (DIN EN 60715, TS 35) – the common standard in control cabinet assembly.
Yes. PE versions are lined up directly next to standard three-level terminals on the DIN rail, creating a compact, standards-compliant terminal strip with integrated protective conductor connection.
