All WAGO Home Automation modules are available in both transmission standards. The right protocol mix depends on the project.

Matter® over Thread®
Self-healing mesh network with no single point of failure. Ideal for larger projects with many modules – Thread devices form a stable wireless network and only require a border router (e.g. Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub).

Matter® over Wi-Fi®
Integrates directly into existing Wi-Fi – no additional hardware layer required. The straightforward choice for smaller projects or retrofits where a WLAN infrastructure is already in place.
