Pfisterer
Pfisterer has been one of the world's leading specialists for contact systems in energy networks since 1921 – from low voltage to extra-high voltage, from Hamburg to Shanghai, from offshore wind power to railway technology.
When electrician Karl Pfisterer opened his workshop in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim in 1921, he didn't imagine that his name would stand for cutting-edge technology in global energy networks 100 years later. Today, the Pfisterer Group develops, manufactures and distributes components and systems for connecting, contacting and insulating electrical conductors with around 1,200 employees – for voltage levels from 110 V to 850 kV.

From Stuttgart Workshop to Listed Technology Corporation
Pfisterer's history begins in 1921 in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. Karl Pfisterer, a trained electrician, developed improved current fittings for the then-young electrification. Demand grew steadily. In 1937 he expanded his business to high-voltage overhead line fittings and patented a dead-end clamp for steel-aluminum cables. A milestone: in 1968 Pfisterer invented the screw compact clamp, which became the technical standard for connections to underground power networks.
After two world wars, several relocations and continuous growth, the company is now based in Winterbach near Stuttgart. On May 14, 2025, PFISTERER Holding SE went public and has since been listed in the Scale segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Despite going public, Pfisterer remains a family business with clear values: independence, innovation, reliability and quality.
The product portfolio includes cable accessories, cable terminations, earthing clamps, overhead line accessories, insulator strings and composite insulators. The solutions are used in offshore wind farms, overhead lines, underground cable systems, substations and industrial plants. Pfisterer is also present in railway technology – in the ICE, TGV and railway safety technology.
Pfisterer operates production facilities in Winterbach, Gussenstadt, Wunsiedel, Czech Republic and South Africa, as well as sales offices in 18 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the USA. The Pfisterer Group is ISO 9001:2015 certified and received the EcoVadis Gold Medal in 2024 – placing it among the top 3% of companies assessed worldwide.
100 Years of Innovation from Winterbach
From the workshop in 1921 through the invention of the screw compact clamp in 1968 to the IPO in 2025: Pfisterer stands for engineering excellence and foresight. With state-of-the-art production facilities, its own high-voltage laboratory (the first in Europe!) and worldwide distribution, the company from Winterbach is making the energy transition possible.
Pfisterer – your POWER CONNECTION since 1921.
