Reyher's history begins in 1887 directly at Hamburg harbor at the Vorsetzen. Ferdinand Reyher traded in ironware, tools and ship articles. In 1901, Karl Tede and Otto Meyer took over the company and renamed it F. REYHER Nchfg. After World War II, the company specialized in fasteners in 1949. In 1959, it moved to its current location at Haferweg in Hamburg-Altona-Nord.
Since then, Reyher has grown continuously: from 160 employees and 50 million euros in sales in 1980 to 960 employees and around 435 million euros in sales today. The company is family-owned and managed by CEO Dr. Peter Bielert. Shareholders include the Lindau, Blinckmann, Müggenburg families and others.
The product range is impressive: 130,000 different items are always available in stock – from nuts, screws and bolts to circlips, dowels and clamps to washers and special fasteners. The products are used wherever assembly and craftsmanship takes place: in machine and plant engineering, in the automotive industry, in aircraft and shipbuilding, for wind turbines, in civil engineering and on adventure playgrounds.
The company premises in Hamburg-Altona cover 40,000 square meters. The centerpiece is the fully automated high-bay warehouse with 100,000 pallet spaces and 180,000 container spaces. The warehouse logistics are state-of-the-art: around 1,600 storage operations take place daily with an incoming tonnage of over 300 tons. Delivery availability is over 99 percent – every day.
Reyher offers far more than just products: The Kanban system ROM (REYHER Order Management) provides automated C-parts supply, RKP (REYHER Kitting & Packaging) handles assembly and packaging, REM (REYHER Engineering Management) delivers technical expertise and consulting. The webshop RIO (REYHER Internet Order) enables 24/7 access to the complete catalog.
Internationally, Reyher is represented with REYHER Asia-Pacific in Shanghai (since 2005) and Taiwan (since 2018). The company is one of the leading trading companies for fasteners and fixing technology in Europe.
