From Special Machine Construction to System Provider

Originally founded as a design office and manufacturer of special machines, Item developed its own modular profile system in the early 1980s to reduce the processing effort for frame constructions. In 1984, the MB building kit system was launched on the market and quickly became established. Today, the company employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people and maintains subsidiaries in the USA, Mexico, China, Italy, Poland, France and Switzerland as well as eleven locations in Germany. The consistent development of new components in close cooperation with users has established the Item building kit system worldwide.

Versatile Product Areas

The program ranges from the classic MB building kit system to the D30 series, workstation systems and the LP building kit system for lean production, to machine cabins, stairway-platform systems and the XMS series. T-slot nuts, connection sets, cover caps, hinges and joints enable fast, flexible and economical construction of operating equipment, production lines and automated transport systems. Item combines the highest material quality with well-thought-out design – for durable, low-maintenance solutions that can be adapted and expanded at any time.

Electrician's Tip: When assembling profile constructions, use the appropriate Item T-slot nuts – these can be inserted and moved without tools, which significantly facilitates later adjustments. Pay attention to the correct thread size (M5, M6, M8)!
